Summary This job opportunity is for an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN, position description D1549P01, within the 177TH MAI SQ of the New Jersey National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The position functions to analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, remove, install, repair, maintain, and certify the components of the aircraft electrical system the electronically and pneumatically controlled environmental system, and associated test equipment. Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN, WG-2892-11, you will: Analyze malfunctions using schematics, logic and wiring diagrams, computer data, and factory drawings Remove and replace components or assemblies down to the lowest level authorized by depot Perform organizational and intermediate level maintenance modifications as required Modify and update electrical and environmental support equipment according to applicable technical publications Perform precise and advanced wiring maintenance procedures on aircraft Document maintenance actions and man-hour expenditures on maintenance forms and computer systems Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of consideration: CAT 2: All permanent, Indefinite on-board, Title 32 and Title 5 Employees within New Jersey Air National Guard. Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grade: Min: AMN/E-2 and Max: SSGT/E-5 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a military unit compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. Military Unit -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Must have the following experiences: Locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems Adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems Reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics Specialized Experience: Must have 36 months of the following experiences: Installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical system Diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exists among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems Making electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools Setting up and operating computerized multiple circuit Analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode Running existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs Testing and analyzing aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.
