Air System Usability and Software Integration Lead will serve the Aeronautics Test and Evaluation (T&E) organization at Edwards Air Force Base supporting the F-35 Developmental Test Team (DT), reporting to Engineering leadership. The successful candidate will have strong cognizance of OFP test plans, test progress, test priorities, discovery items, known and found anomalies, discrepancy reports, watch items, and system stability/usability metrics and calculations. This position will require near continuous communication across the test sites (EDW and PAX), design groups, SI&T, and USG site leadership. The candidate will also be custodian of test-specific tools to track system discoveries and anomalies and coordinate the collection of information to support issue identification, resolution, and testing of proposed remedies or workarounds.

A level 5 employee Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.

Travel to test sites and Fort Worth will be required.

Occasional control room participation in test activities will be required.

Occasional participation in lab and flight line testing/troubleshooting will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

STEM degree or an extensive background supporting tactical aircraft in test environment

Extensive knowledge and application of F-35 Air System elements: Vehicle Systems, Mission Systems

Demonstrated ability to characterize and troubleshoot F-35 Air System anomalies

Demonstrated use of F-35 off board analysis tools: CRE, JARVIS, TDR, and FATMOPS

Must poses at least a secret security clearance with F-35 special access

Desired Skills:

Demonstrated understanding of on-aircraft fiber optics/wiring troubleshooting processes using modern tools

Demonstrated understanding of flight test instrumentation systems

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $135,800 - $256,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
