Eaton Corporation Wiring Team Lead in Edmonton, Alberta

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Wiring Team Lead.

What you’ll do:

The Edmonton Power Centre has an immediate permanent, full-time opening for a Wiring Team Lead for their team. This position will be in Edmonton, Alberta.

Position Overview:

Under the general direction of the Production Manager, this position is responsible for all electrical assembly work of the EPC production line. This position is expected to take a leadership role in the electrical team ensuring continuity of the production line, as well as meeting the expectation of Eaton’s High 5 areas of focus: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.

In this function you will:

• Review 8-week shipping schedule to make resource planning accordingly.

• Schedule and update job tasks pertaining to assembly start and completion date to meet shipping schedule.

• Run the Tier # 1 Meeting and update daily board.

• Check, add and complete action list.

• Follow the process to meet the quality standard and make sure In Process Check list filled and complete during the assembly.

• Review new job drawing package and schedule kick-off meeting with COE as required.

• Check job material and notify discrepancy to Fabrication, Supply chain, COE or production manager accordingly.

• Ensure shop material sufficiency meeting production requirement.

• Assign and delegate tasks with target completion date to assemblers and provide support as needed.

• Ensure labor hours of different tasks are logged accurately in time sheet, accordingly, ensure time sheets are checked and signed daily.

• Monitor assembly process of all staff continuously, drive efficiency and improvements as necessary.

• Notify and coordinate with Team Lead, testing to prepare for job testing, ensuring entire job is clean before transferring to testing group.

• Maintain all tools, report any missing, damaged, or faulty equipment to the Production Supervisor

• Any other production duty as required to meet shipping requirement.

• Provide assembler training for all new employees, and cross-train all operators.

• Actively participate, maintain, and monitor all staff in regard to Eaton’s daily 5S, Safety and Gemba Walk program and MESH Element.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Completion of a Post-Secondary or a Vocational program is ideal, completion of High School is required at a minimum

• At least 1-2 years of experience in electrical systems in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment is ideal

• A minimum of 2-3 years of manufacturing assembly experience in an electrical environment is require

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position

• Must be able to work in Canada without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications :

• University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience in safety programs or JHSC member at previous positions

• 5 years minimum experience in working with electrical products and assemblies
