Computronix Project Manager, Software Development Team in Edmonton, Alberta

As a Project Manager on the Product team, you will deliver premiere software releases to our Product Managers, to meet the needs of our large government clients.  Since 1979, Computronix has successfully created win-win relationships with Government clients throughout North America.

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Plan, execute, and deliver high-quality software projects that solve real business needs

  • Act as primary contact with internal stakeholders from project startup through implementation and warranty

  • Successfully negotiate with internal stakeholders related to scope, resourcing, and schedule to achieve win-win solutions

  • Concurrently manage multiple software development projects

  • Develop and execute project plans and charters

  • Work with a team to create innovative solutions for challenging problems

  • Collaborate with the project technical lead to lead  the project team and interact daily with development team members to ensure task completion

  • Contribute to a culture that respects colleagues and clients

    You are perfect for this role if you have…

  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading software development projects, preferably with product development experience in a software company. 

  • Knowledge of project management disciplines (e.g., PMBOK, Schedule, Scope, Quality, HR, Communications, Risk, Change Management, etc).

  • Managed internal development teams to deliver a product release to market, incorporating developers, QA, tech writers, and other staff into a successful project plan.

  • Managed projects in a hybrid agile environment, where there is a mix of agile and waterfall approaches. 

  • Built project plans (including work breakdown, resourcing, and schedule) to deliver regular product releases. 

  • Experience tracking project status, quality, and delivery metrics to determine progress toward project goals. 

  • Driven the execution of a product release after development is complete to ensure quality along with timely delivery. 

  • Collaborated with product leadership to establish a strategy to meet milestones and important deliverables. 

  • Proven change management skills – comfortable with managing projects where change will occur, with the ability to set priorities and work commitments.

  • Assessed and managed project risks and effectively communicated these to senior product management.

      It would be a plus if you have …

  • Provided leadership and mentoring to other project managers within the group. 

  • Driven process improvement in tool development within the product team.

  • Supervised software development staff. 

  • Experience with Atlassian tooling (JIRA, Structure, and Tempo) to manage project work. 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or working towards obtaining your certification

  • Solid understanding of software/application development and testing; infrastructure experience helpful, but not required.
