What it’s like working at CBC/Radio-Canada

Radio-Canada/CBC is Canada’s national public broadcaster and one of its largest cultural institutions. With a mandate to inform, enlighten, and entertain, we aim to provide a wide range of content that reflects the diversity of Canada’s people and regions.

The Project Manager, Corporate Development - Indigenous Office, will play a pivotal role in implementing Radio-Canada/CBC’s National Indigenous Strategy. This role involves managing projects that support the corporation’s strategic objectives for Indigenous inclusion, representation, and engagement. The Project Manager will work closely with various departments, external partners, and Indigenous communities to develop and implement the National Indigenous Strategy that promotes Indigenous culture, languages, and perspectives within the organization and its content.

We are looking for a highly organized and ambitious Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and who has a desire to deliver exceptional service. You will provide administrative and office support, and analysis, project coordination and research to the Indigenous office, on specific initiatives relevant to the development and management of National Indigenous Strategy's strategic actions. Please note this is a full-time, temporary position (until September 2025), that can be based anywhere in Canada.

We do offer flexible work options, with the possibility of working from home.

Your Role

As a Project Manager, you will support the Indigenous Office as part of Corporate Development and work closely with the entire Corporate Development management team as well as with individuals across the Organization. You will provide structure, guidance and oversight to the successful implementation, tracking and reporting of the National Indigenous Strategy (https://strategies.cbcrc.ca/en/indigenous-strategy/#::text=With%20the%20launch%20of%20this,Inuit%20and%20M%C3%A9tis%20are%20integral) , with a small team to coordinate.

You have exceptional initiative, creativity, and good judgment when it comes to weighing the significance of sometimes competing information.

You will be expected to:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align corporate development goals with the strategy.

  • Lead and manage multiple implementations that support the Indigenous Office’s mandate, ensuring timely and effective execution. Ensure that accountables of each team/department develop and implement the action plan in time.

  • Oversee timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to organizational goals and standards.

  • Coordinate cross-departmental teams to facilitate strategy implementation and resolve any issues that arise.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities and leaders as well as close collaboration with departments of the organization. This can include holding consultations, workshops, and meetings with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.

  • Serve as a liaison between Radio-Canada/CBC and Indigenous stakeholders, ensuring open communication and collaboration.

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of initiatives and projects, developing program reports to senior management on a regular basis.

  • Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. This includes considering the long-term impact of decisions on Indigenous communities and ensuring that risks are minimized.

  • Use data, feedback and research to inform decisions, improve the Program and strategies. This includes collecting and analyzing data on program outcomes, community needs, and best practices to make informed choices.

  • Ensure the quality assurance of all documents produced.

  • Support the development of tools, working documents, presentations and act as a facilitator to ensure the success of workshops, cross-functional meetings, etc.

  • Work with the management team to create and communicate well-written compelling presentations and briefings for senior management and for external audiences.

  • Gather information from a wide variety of sources inside and outside the Corporation and be able to distill that information into clear, comprehensive documents.
