A growing and leading engineering firm is seeking a Technology Designer for upcoming commercial, government, and educational projects in Seattle. The ideal candidate will have around 3+ years of experience in these sectors. This role involves planning and designing various integrated systems in the technology sector, including outside plant cabling, structured cabling, wireless networks, access control, surveillance, and intrusion systems.
Responsibilities
Interact with clients and other disciplines.
Utilize AutoCAD or Revit for design tasks.
Plan and design integrated systems such as outside plant cabling, structured cabling, wireless networks, access control, surveillance, and intrusion systems.
Maintain client relationships.
Coordinate with project managers.
Prepare Division 27 and 28 technical specifications.
Research technical product information.
Conduct and/or delegate job site inspections to determine existing conditions and the extent of progress made by contractors.
Design, coordinate, and engineer systems per discipline (telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, Wi-Fi, etc.).
Prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations utilizing Revit and AutoCAD.
Perform job site inspections to determine existing conditions and the extent of progress made by contractors.
Provide support to the team, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge.
Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings.
Work on projects for the continuous improvement of the firm and design practice.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience within the technology/telecom space.
Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD.
Knowledge of telecommunications systems.
Experience with security systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to research technical product information.
Experience in conducting and/or delegating job site inspections.
Ability to design, coordinate, and engineer systems per discipline.
Skill in preparing drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations using Revit and AutoCAD.
Capability to provide support to the team and share technical knowledge.
Work Environment
The role will initially require 2+ days in the office with the potential for 3+ remote days. As you stay longer with the team, there will be more opportunities for remote work. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
