EXOS Membership Sales & Engagement Manager in Edmond, Oklahoma

Job Summary:

The Membership Sales and Engagement Manager is responsible for overseeing the membership team, membership sales and sales processes, developing leads for potential members, providing information to prospective members, and enrolling and servicing new members and marketing and public relations for the center. This person also assists management in meeting membership and financial objectives. This person is responsive to both current and potential members maintaining the Center’s highest standards of customer service.

The Membership Sales and Engagement Manager continually ensures that we are serving our members with the best fitness and programming environment possible, staffed with friendly and knowledgeable individuals who enjoy exceeding expectations. This person is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about the Center and its programs/services, is responsible for delivering the highest level of service to our members and guests exemplifying professionalism, and ensuring we adhere to the values and mission of Exos and of the Center.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Actively develop leads for potential members

  • Achieve membership, revenue, program, and participation goals, including personal sales goals

  • Manages day to day operations of membership sales

  • Works with the Membership and Leadership teams, develop an ongoing calendar of events that support recruitment of new membership leads and retain existing members

  • Develop with the general manager, performance manager and marketing coordinator the marketing strategic plan and implementation schedule.

  • Respond to telephone, walk-ins and e-mail membership inquiries, booking and maintaining appointments for potential members to tour the club

  • Prepares for, attends and actively participates in sales meetings. Evaluates sales strategies and sales presentations to identify improvement areas. Constantly strives to improve knowledge and application of all sales skills, in order to improve measurable sales performance – such as closing percentage rate, number of sales, number of membership upgrades, etc.

  • Review all membership paperwork and transactions for new members, including application and orientation requirements

  • Track and report daily membership sales

  • Track production of other membership team members, coach and support positive performance

  • Assist in hiring and training for anyone involved in sales in the center

  • Organize and maintain daily logs of tours, information calls, web leads, and guests for follow-up, and track progress with ED daily; record all prospects in prospect tracking sheets, as well as software

  • Ensure each potential member and every sale is sourced appropriately, and that sources are reported accurately to marketing department.

  • Manage guest policy and guest reports

  • Work with the General Manager and Performance Manager regarding Group and Corporate sales action plans

  • Provide ongoing maintenance for assigned existing corporate accounts, including regular contact with Corporate Liaisons, distribution of flyers/passes and promotional events

  • Maintain and submit a commission log each pay period, including all necessary back-up paperwork such as copies of membership applications

  • Conducts membership and marketing meetings

  • Develop strategy and plans for outreach and guerilla marketing

  • Responsible for marketing and membership payroll and Advertising budgets.

  • Make follow-up calls to all potential members who failed to show for their appointments, and all guests who have not yet enrolled.

  • Work together with all departments as a team

  • Participate as Manager on Duty

  • Meet Center’s standards for professionalism in conduct and appearance at all times

  • Oversee retention teams and center retention efforts

  • Achieve monthly personal and team sales goal

  • Ensure accurate and timely flow of membership paperwork

  • Create a sense of cooperation and teamwork within the department and among other departments

  • Maintain Current CPR/AED certification

  • Participate in all member, guest, and Center events

  • Performs various other specific duties and assignments as necessary or required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree

  • Prior experience supervising a sales team preferably in a Fitness or Hospitality environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Proven track record in membership sales in a membership-driven, multi-purpose facility, preferably two years previous experience in a similar role.

  • Extremely personable, professional, and hard-working with exceptional organizational skills.

  • Solid ability to use computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Email, Internet.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires long periods of standing or sitting.

  • Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing.

  • Grasping and gripping movements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person. Employee is expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance.

  • Use of personal safety equipment required.

  • Frequent use of chemicals, including cleaning and laundry supplies.

  • Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise.

  • Occasional exposure to bodily fluids.

  • Occasional lifting, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
