Job Description
Primarily responsible for going door-to-door in residential areas to gather information about existing water service lines, typically as part of a lead service line replacement program, by visually inspecting the service line material at the point of entry into a home and recording the details for further action
Responsibilities
Door-to-door canvassing: Visiting homes in designated areas to engage with residents and schedule appointments for service line inspections.
Data collection: Identifying the material of the water service line at the point of entry into the home, taking photographs, and recording relevant details on a data collection form.
Customer interaction: Explaining the purpose of the lead service line replacement program, answering basic questions, and addressing concerns from residents.
Compliance with regulations: Following all privacy and safety protocols when collecting customer information and entering homes.
Reporting: Accurately documenting findings and submitting data to the project team on a timely basis.
Essential Skills
OSHA 10 certification
Strong communication skills to interact with clients daily
Bilingual in Spanish
1+ years of construction experience
High School Diploma
U.S. citizenship
Ability to pass a federal background check
Technical proficiency and design application knowledge
Understanding of the construction process for large commercial, municipal, or federal projects
Strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working with computers/tablets/phones
Strong writing and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships with colleagues, customers, and partners
Work Environment
The role involves canvassing and surveying the area, using a mobile app on a tablet for inspection tasks, taking photos, and interacting with homeowners. The project site is in Woodbridge, NJ, with work hours from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The position requires a vehicle, and mileage will be reimbursed. Opportunities for overtime pay are available. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
