Role
The Event Manager takes a leading responsibility for the event management and co-ordination of all non-music events. Alongside the Bar Manager, they ensure the smooth handling & delivery of all events from sales team handover to hand-back. Event management and delivery of successful events, both music, and non-music, is key responsibility of the Bar Management team, led by the Bar Manager and Event Manager.
The Event Manager is also responsible for O2 Academy Edinburgh’s multiple bars, stock control procedures and management of a large and diverse team of front-of-house employees. The role is to ensure our bars’ operation is executed to the highest standard across a wide variety of live shows and events. The Event Manager will work closely with the Bar Manager to drive financial success and achieve annual company targets.

About you
Personal license holder
Experience in Event Management within a corporate setting.
History of delivering highest quality event experience for corporate and special occasion events
Understanding of the hospitality industry and live venues
Proficient in Microsoft Office packages and EPOS systems
Competent in cellar management
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and licensing
Proven track record of bar sales, GP and yield
What we need

Demonstrable leadership and motivation of others
Enthusiasm for the live events and hospitality industry
Flexibility to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings/public holidays)
Attention to detail and strong communication skills
What you’ll be doing
Liaising between venue sales team and client to understand and deliver successful events.
Planning and ordering resources to ensure events run smoothly.
Recruitment and training of front-of-house employees
Stock management, ordering and regular stock- takes
Smooth running of operational responsibilities
Management of a large team
Support the Bar Manager to lead, manage, and motivate the team that looks after the venue & smooth delivery of all event bookings.
Achieving targets as set by the general manager
Assist in forecasting revenues and cost control
Financial reporting
Cash management
Processing weekly payroll
Duty management at live events
Liaison with suppliers, partners and head office
Bars and cellars maintenance and repair and service management
Supervision of deliveries
First-class client and customer service
Highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene across all bar operations
