Description
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Centers student leadership programs for respective Center. Instructs and facilitates leadership classes and training programs and develops and prepares students for Center leadership positions. Works with SGA/Leadership Coordinators from other Centers to oversee the Student Government Association and act as the student government co-advisors.
High School Diploma or equivalency required. Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited school preferred. Post-High School leadership, or related, training courses preferred. Previous Job Corps or related program experience required. Must have strong facilitation skills to deliver training programs to students. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurability requirements.
Qualifications
Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
Plans and facilitates leadership training instruction for students and infuses leadership development activities into Center operations.
Responsible to provide leadership students with comprehensive and individualized case management ensuring student progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program. Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with leadership students throughout their enrollment and provides personal and career counseling.
Develops and coordinates community services opportunities for students.
Develops Center-beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, Career Technical Training and WBL.
Routinely evaluates and documents student performance using the case management system. o Develops certifications for the Student Leadership program. o Selects and trains students for leadership roles.
Works with the SGA/Leadership Coordinators of other Centers to administer the Student Government Association and serve as Co-Advisors for this group of students.
Participates in instruction of the Extended Training Day program.
Works with the SGA/Leadership Coordinators of other Centers to oversee the Student Welfare Fund activities and purchases.

Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action when needed and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.
Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.
Provides transportation as required.
Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and ensures that problems are, in fact, corrected.
Effectively promotes the Centers leadership program and activities to all staff via training and written and oral communication.
Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
Accepts direction and supervision from the Executive Center Director/Deputy Center Director/Social Development Director/Center Shift Manager/Weekend Director to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
Other duties as assigned.
