Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Edgewood, Maryland

Description We are in search of a meticulous and dedicated Credit Clerk to join our team within the financial services industry, based in EDGEWOOD, Maryland. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications

• Maintain accurate records of customer credit

• Investigate and address any customer credit inquiries

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action for delinquent payments

• Reconcile various general ledger accounts as assigned

• Investigate and resolve outstanding balances in ledger accounts

• Reconcile daily check register to general ledger and branch exception logs

• Account for all voided cashier’s checks and reconcile cashier’s checks issued and outstanding

• Timely clear outstanding cases addressing various cashier’s check research inquiries and requests

• Reconcile daily travelers check and money order issuances to third party vendor reports

• Monitor and follow up on status of money order live void reimbursements

• Reconcile daily visa gift card activity for issued cards and transactions to third party vendor reports

• Reconcile daily issued GAP insurance policies and cancellations from third party website to general ledger

• Review employee expense reimbursement requests daily for proper back-up and approval

• Ensure expenses are assigned to the proper general ledger accounts

• Initiate the process to reimburse the employee

• Prepare and post journal entries to record mortgage settlement wires

• Prepare and post correcting entries as needed Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Ability to handle Data Entry tasks efficiently

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Understanding of General Ledger operations

• Able to Post Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Expense Reimbursements

• Knowledge of Bank Deposit procedures and Daily Bank Deposits

• Skilled in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience with Bank Account Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, Cash Reconciliations

• Proficiency in Credit Card Reconciliation and Daily Reconciliation

• Experience in Financial Reconciliation

• Background in the Financial Services industry

• Prior experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar position is preferred.
