Hybrid (2 days in office/3 days remote) Staff Accountant opportunity

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a dynamic and growing Financial Services firm in the Twin Cities. In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized accounting support, including the compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial information. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our internal and external reporting, fiscal planning, and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile journal entries, ensuring accurate maintenance of general ledger details

• Investigate and correct any inaccuracies identified in financial records and follow-up on them

• Carry out research, analysis, and interpretation of financial results

• Generate various financial and managerial reports along with supporting documentation

• Assist in the development of financial models and the preparation of schedules for external auditors

• Ensure compliance with established accounting principles and company policies

• Participate in the preparation of information for regulatory filings

• Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and prepare balance sheets

• Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures

• Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned

• Utilize skills such as Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant with a minimum of 3 years

• Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrated experience in maintaining and managing the General Ledger

• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately

• Experience in performing Month End Close tasks

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Proficiency in relevant accounting software

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations as related to accounting.
