SouthWest Transit Special Event Rider Guide in Eden Prairie, Minnesota
SouthWest Transit is an award-winning public transit agency serving the core areas of Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie. We currently offer express bus service to and from Downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, and Normandale Community College as well as daily on-demand micro-transit service in our core service area as well as adjacent cities in Carver, Scott, and Hennepin counties. In addition to our regular services, we also offer seasonal services including the Minnesota State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts, and more. SouthWest Transit is looking for Rider Guides to work the 2 weeks of the State Fair and/or the weekends of the Renaissance Festival. The days and hours worked are flexible. The Rider Guide directs passengers to board the bus at the State Fair/Renaissance Festival Grounds and at the SWT stations. The person in this role will interact heavily with the passengers and is one of the first representations passengers see of SouthWest Transit. The Rider Guide will help with loading and unloading strollers and other mobility devices into the bus storage compartment. A minimum number of 3 shifts worked during the State Fair is required. However, the preferred minimum number of shifts worked during the State Fair is 5. Applications may be reviewed as they are submitted. Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Direct passengers from the parking ramp or fairgrounds to the bus boarding area. - Assist passengers with boarding the bus. - Load and unload strollers and other mobility devices into the bus storage compartment. - Ensure the cleanliness of grounds, lobbies, and restrooms. - Other duties as assigned.
