This role will be a mixture of indirect and direct activities as required by departmental needs.

Indirect responsibilities : Accountable for collaborating and communicating with Planners, Supervisors, Materials, and production floor to ensure manufacturing resources are maximized to meet desired factory output. Accountable for ensuring manufacturing resources (personnel, material, and space) are maximized/managed to meet business needs.

Direct Responsibilities : Support the manufacturing of products by utilizing manufacturing equipment, in-process instrumentation, and production documentation in accordance with current production methods, company policy and safety regulations.

  2. Assist Supervisor in leading direct reports in daily tasks, and goals.

  3. Communicates well with area staff, Manufacturing Engineers, Production Planners, Programmers, and Managers.

  4. Promotes open and positive dialogue with team members.

  5. Demonstrates proper departmental authority for position and enforces policies and procedures.

  6. Job order administration

  7. Processes production order SAP transactions as required

  8. Conducts order changes in SAP to ensure accuracy of material transactions

  9. Job packet release/stage & distribution to ensure timely execution

  10. Assists in maintaining the daily dispatch

  11. Works with area Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to help resolve QN’s, lot inspections, and project on-holds

  12. Ensures that all production material/supplies/tools are available at point of consumption

  13. Jointly supports material handling group to organize production material and supplies

  14. Works with area technicians and other support functions to define/establish material presentation

  15. Identifies material deficiencies and performs root cause analysis to minimize/eliminate out-of-stock occurrence. Works cross-functionally to implement solutions

  16. Works with appropriate functions to synchronize material delivery schedules with production schedules

  17. Works cross-functionally to ensure appropriate inventory level of local materials and supplies meet production volume requirements

  18. Defines locations for projects based upon project requirements (when not defined by space planning)

  19. Facilitates inventory counting for PSA locations

  20. Coordinates production resources to facilitate workflow

  21. Assists in providing work direction to assure labor resources are fully utilized. Recognize resource constraints and resulting impact on orders. Plans and distributes future work

  22. Maintains close collaboration with Supervisor/Planning to set schedule and coordinate unscheduled work activity

  23. Assists with evaluation of performance of hourly employees and assists in the hiring process

  24. Assists in the development of area training within the department

  25. Supports employee development and evaluation for cross-training purposes

  26. Helps manage on-the-job training material

  27. Provides training to new production personnel as needed and contributes to the development of work instructions

  28. Identifies issues, problems, and solutions in areas of safety, quality and production

  29. Manages production equipment as needed

  30. Assist in validation of new production equipment

  31. Schedules routine maintenance

  32. Works to ensure calibrations of existing equipment are up to date.

  33. Process strategies and safety improvement/enforcements of policies and procedures

  34. Works with production and area Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to develop new process strategies

  35. Participates in area safety investigations and supports implementation of new practices.

  36. Assists in continuous improvement projects

  37. Leads 5S activities (assigns technicians as needed)

  38. Contributes to safety improvements and enforcement of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Maintains safe and clean work environment by leading by example and assisting supervisor in monitoring the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.

  39. Adheres to, trains and helps enforce compliance to GMP, ISO, Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.

  40. Performs the following duties as needed to help drive Productivity, Efficiency and OTD.

  41. Deciphers schematics and specifications to isolate and repair defective circuit faults on products and sub systems.

  42. Effectively communicate technical and manufacturing issues to improve products and performance.

  43. Comply with all processes and procedures including QMS, ISO, EDS, and safety.

  44. Meets standards for quality, efficiency, and schedule.

  45. Interprets engineering documents to determine results and processes.

  46. Ability to use hand tools, specialized tooling, and basic measuring equipment.

  47. Contributes to safety improvements and enforcement of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Maintains safe and clean work environment by leading by example and assisting supervisor in monitoring the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.

  48. Adheres to, trains and helps enforce compliance to GMP, ISO, Environmental, Health and Safety procedures.

  • Vo-tech degree and 3 years relevant manufacturing experience, or 6 years relevant manufacturing experience.

  • 2 years Lead, Foreman, or supervisor experience preferred.

  • General SAP experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to work with Quality Systems and Process Routings.

  • Basic MS Office skills.

  • Prefer willingness to work flexible schedule when required by the business.

  • General understanding of change management process.
