The Platform Operations Manager role will be a key player in the Platform Management Team. You will spearhead enablement across technical and operational workstreams that will help scale our payment network. In this role, you will partner across the organization including Project Managers, Product Managers, Analytics Team and the Customer Success Team to manage our Approved Product List (APL) across each retailer, designing strategy to optimize the platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Operation Analysts while primarily working to enable accurate and proficient Approved Product List (APL) across retailers

  • Create and manage functional strategies while closely working with cross-functional teams including to help design, optimize, or solve technical hurdles for a seamless APL deployment

  • Manage/support various initiatives around retailer onboarding including managing functional testing for a successful launch

  • Prepare and present strategies and business reviews to leaders and the broader Team

  • Create a positive team culture that centers on diligence, creativity and innovation

Management Success Practices:

  • Being Customer-Centric: focus the team on the customer and design from the outside in. They find out what their customers want, then design processes and plan the work to create a better customer experience

  • Cultivating Team Engagement: be responsible for creating and maintaining a high level of engagement with team members and others. The interpersonal climate that exists in a team is the combined result of how well each member works with others, deals with motivational ups and downs, resolves conflict, and communicates optimism and energy

  • Facilitating Execution Plans: translate an enterprise strategy into a workable local tactical plan. Managers must decide what path to follow, what tasks need to be done and by whom, how progress is going to be measured, what resources are needed and what contingency plans to put in place if something goes wrong. Finally, the plan needs to be properly communicated so everyone on the team can follow it

  • Fostering Innovation: adapt and innovate in response in response to changes in customer sentiment and conditions surrounding the team. Creating the conditions to be restless, stay curious and foster innovation requires that managers listen without judgement and employees stay open to change and are willing to explore new ideas and possibilities

  • Acquiring, Assessing and Deploying Talent: responsible for sourcing, screening, hiring, on-boarding, orientation, deploying, training, developing, and terminating employment when that is called for

  • Growth Mindset : with a growth mindset you are positive, optimistic, and confident things will get better and turn out well. You stay curious, expect success and are courageous

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of related work experience in system analysis, operations, consumer payment, retail/CPG or similar background in data and process modeling

  • 5+ years working on large data sources with a primary focus on data manipulation and analysis; working Microsoft Excel and/or SQL environments

  • 5+ years of people management and direct leadership positions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with analytical tools: SQL or Python

  • Experience using Confluence, JIRA and other product management tools

  • Working knowledge of retail SKU/UPC data

  • Deep proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Sound judgment, problem resolution, decision-making, & experience working under strict deadlines

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
