Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the production of 3D Printers and subsystems. This includes both existing and new products! The role requires technical leadership in 3D printing production capabilities and involves overseeing all technical aspects of production, including floor layouts, equipment, custom assembly fixtures, work instructions, training, and floor support.
Responsibilities
Provide production support, process improvement, and continuous improvement.
Problem-solving and working cross-functionally with engineering teams for the assembly of products.
Redesign or design fixtures for assembly/manufacturing using SolidWorks.
Interface with a team of other engineers, technicians, and production leadership.
Lead process improvement projects and create manufacturing documentation.
Provide daily production support and resolve technical issues.
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Essential Skills
Experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically with building electro-mechanical products such as medical devices or industrial equipment.
Proficient in process improvement, writing instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
Skilled in using SolidWorks for fixture design.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to develop processes and make decisions.
Project management capability and the ability to influence and lead others.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, assembly, capital equipment, and ISO standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
7-10+ years of experience.
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline.
Experience with hands-on electro-mechanical assembly or working with electro-mechanical components.
Experience in any industry, such as medical devices or industrial/capital equipment.
Additive Manufacturing experience (nice to have).
Continuous improvement mindset – not satisfied with the status quo.
Work Environment
The work environment involves working with high technology equipment and requires a focus on continuous improvement projects, such as inventory control improvement. The role may involve supervision and leadership based on experience and capability of candidates.
