EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc. JOB TITLE: Data Engineer LOCATION: 11000 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.) DUTIES: Administer, test, and implement computer databases, applying knowledge of database management systems. Duties include: Work with Electronic Medical Records, Billing, and other data types from health care provider clients; Evaluate sources against the existing standard and create a new standard to be applied; Work with incoming data, identify locations of data elements of interest, put together specifications, and implement the corresponding ETL to transform the incoming data into standardized data warehouse; Conduct gap analysis to compare the client s data structure and content to that of the standard expected for that EMR, billing, or adjudicated claims data source and communicate findings to the client; Evaluate the client s data to locate data elements of interest to our application; Complex cases involve reconciliation of data in multiple locations, clever ways of imputing information from sub-par data, and de-duplication strategies; Document findings as specifications and implement the corresponding ETL; Manage ETL validation through both internal and client testing; Implement adjustments to code as necessary; Map client local terminologies to Optum Analytics standard concepts; Perform implementation validation and support client UAT issue resolution; Work collaboratively with other team members during implementation; Investigate data related questions raised by both internal and external clients; Actively participate in the maintenance and improvement of the overall data process; and Contribute knowledge to ongoing team documentation for the benefit of future use. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S. REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, Information Technology or a related field and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one year of experience in the job offered or a related computer occupation. Position requires the following: Data analytics; Data analysis languages: SQL, Hive SQL, or Postgres; Implementing or supporting solutions on AWS Cloud platform; Coding in Scala and Spark; Microsoft Excel and PPT; Jenkins; GitHub; and Big Data concepts.
