In this leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of cocoa products – from origination to finished goods – by driving the Regional Cocoa Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process with a focus on integrated plans across timeframes and aligned with the Global Tactical Plans & Regional Operation Plans.

Overall responsible for all supply chain activities within the region with the manufacturing site SC, ensuring best in class service to customers. Management of all activities related to Cocoa Supply Chain within the region. Overall responsibility includes making decisions on process (aligned with RACI’s), network optimization and organization to meet the regional and global target in terms of customer satisfaction, cost to serve and working capital.

Key responsibilities include:

Accountabilities

  • Guarantee the satisfaction of customer needs

  • Optimize the level of inventory

  • Efficient Supply Chain costs

  • Ensure strategic guidelines are reflected in all planning and execution activities within the region

  • Implement standard ways of working as defined by the global COE/regional Supply Chain organization

Responsibilities

Communication:

Single Point of Contact for Regional Cocoa VPs and senior stakeholders in CSD

Activities:

  • Strategy: Ensure strategic guidelines are reflected in all planning and execution activities within the region. Build regional roadmap, ensure resource allocation, follow up deployment

  • OTIF: maximize service - track and improve with all stakeholders (planning, scheduling, coordination, sites supply chain, production, sourcing)

  • Bring Cocoa and Chocolate supply together - for seamless end to end management of supply and demand

  • S&OE / S&OP: build and drive S&OE, contribute to the S&OP

  • Planning - oversee the regional operational planning process, to optimize cocoa network in the region on the operational horizon; Ensure consistency within the global integrated planning on full time horizon

  • Scheduling - for executing the schedule plan with optimization of capacity utilization and service to customers

  • Inventory: overall responsibility of right stock level in collaboration with full CSD teams and definition of stock targets/ ambition in collaboration with Global planning.

  • Issue resolution: manage short term issues and steer the cross functional teams to find and deploy solutions

  • Leads and participates in operations site project teams as required

  • Costs - ensure supply chain costs are under control

  • Continuous improvement: Drive CI in processes; Follow-up performance KPIs, initiate and monitor action plan progress

  • Team management:

  • Overall management via direct or indirect reporting line of the regional & Site supply chain team

  • Build a strong capable team

  • Ensure development and succession planning

  • Drive engagement and retention

Scope:

  • Regional scope for Cocoa, working closely as part of the Regional Supply Chain team (Cocoa & Chocolate)

  • Operational planning & execution focus, with strategic mindset

  • Support the global alignment of Operational and tactical horizon for plans

  • Travel requirements: 10-20%

  • Others: Frequent interactions & reviews with cross functional colleagues and senior stakeholders

About you:

  • Graduate/Post graduate degree in business administration, management or relevant field

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience of which 10+ years in managing multi-cultural, dispersed teams in a matrix organization, ideally within a demanding high volume Manufacturing, Distribution or B2B organization, extensive experience of conducting business on a regional level

  • Proven experience in senior planning &/or logistics role, including budget & performance management

  • Experience in Supply planning strategy and execution governance operating models, leveraging scale, shared services and international flows

  • Deep knowledge of the S&OP, supply planning (production planning and scheduling) and inventory management processes

  • Experience in planning system set-up/scale-up

  • Problem solving skills through root cause analysis and data driven continuous improvement, leading teams towards common goals

  • Experience of financial management and cost control, demonstrated experience in cost optimization & reduction programs

  • A tenacious character who challenges the ‘status quo’ and can manage upwards as well as downwards, you will continuously strive for improvements in ways of working, processes and approaches to service strategies, best practice inventory management

  • An Agent of Change, you will create a culture of excellence, possess well-honed influencing skills, with the ability to devise and deliver business process improvements, recommending effective solutions to enhance supply planning performance whilst reducing costs across the supply chain

  • Adopting a right first time mentality, you will uphold the values of world class methodologies, embrace lean and ultimately enjoy promoting a team based culture where people are happy and engaged

  • Demonstrated understanding of Planning and Logistics processes and its factors/drivers

  • Ability to lead and manage change in a complex environment

  • Proficient in English, any other regional language is an advantage

  • Intercultural exposure and experience, being comfortable in international environments

  • Ability to be a self-starter and work autonomously, as well as be part of a successful team

  • Ability to bring people together, set common agenda

  • Ability to drive change in an collaborate way

  • Skills to create internal and external partnerships across the organization and manage interfaces

  • Inner motivation to continuously improve and help others to excel

  • Demonstrated experience in leading successful & sustainable change management for a Logistics function

  • Excellent communicator and storyteller; superb verbal and written communication skills

  • Builds deep customer understanding and relationships

  • Takes ownership, proactive in communication, drives for success with a data driven approach

  • Experience in crisis or incident management

  • Builds diverse and inclusive teams, builds engagement and empowers the team
