We are looking for a motivated IT support technician striving to address the needs of our users. Work will include onsite and remote support ranging from troubleshooting technical issues, hardware setup, networking, printing issues, system builds and configurations, etc. The Desktop Support Technician will demonstrate comprehensive support skills in the areas of operating systems (Windows 10, iOs) Microsoft Office 365, common applications, system and peripheral network connectivity, as well as mobile device – MDM (iPhone) support. The ideal candidate will be well organized and display strong multi-tasking abilities. This opportunity is based at our East Providence facility. Night Shift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide on-site support and troubleshooting for all hardware and software issues during the night shift, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.

  • Assist Production personnel with IT systems maintenance and break fix on the Production floor and in the Control Room.

  • Manage and troubleshoot Wi-Fi networks to ensure consistent connectivity and optimal performance across the manufacturing plant, addressing any connectivity issues promptly.

  • Provide technical support for laptops and printers used in the manufacturing process, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.

  • Manage and maintain all Asset Deployment platforms, Manage Engine and Microsoft Intune.

  • Facilitate the seamless integration of new hires into the organization, providing technical support and guidance on IT-related onboarding activities such as account setup, software installations, and equipment provisioning.

  • Perform Oracle password resets for production team members as needed, following security protocols and ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Document support activities, solutions, and procedures accurately for knowledge sharing and future reference, maintaining detailed records of hardware and software configurations.

  • Adhere to established IT policies, procedures, and security guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in information security.

  • Oversee audiovisual support for large conference rooms, including setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment to ensure seamless presentations and meetings.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (M365) suite, providing guidance and assistance to users on utilizing its various applications efficiently.

  • Prioritize and manage workload effectively, ensuring timely resolution of support tickets and tasks while maintaining a high level of service quality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT initiatives and projects, contributing technical expertise and support as needed.

  • Document support activities, solutions, and processes accurately for knowledge sharing and future reference.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, effectively conveying technical information to non-technical users and maintaining meticulous records of support activities and resolutions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience or 1 years’ experience with college degree

  • CompTIA A+ or Microsoft MCP in current desktop operating systems

  • Troubleshooting skills and techniques applied to diagnosing TCP/IP networking issues

  • Knowledge in addressing DNS and DHCP issues and configurations

  • Knowledge of setting up VPN, RDP and other remote technologies for desktops

  • Experience installing, supporting, and troubleshooting business critical client-server applications on Windows desktop systems

  • Knowledge and experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy

  • Knowledge and experience administering Office-365 cloud environments

  • Thorough knowledge of desktop application (Office, Outlook, Antivirus, etc.)

  • Knowledge of setting up handheld smart devices in a network environment - iPhone

  • Knowledge of network printing

  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve challenging technical issues

  • Ability to keep up to date with current and future technologies

  • Friendly demeanor with clients and peers

  • Good communication and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work well both in a team environment and as an independent self-starter

  • Ability to clearly document work performed in addressing each issue

  • Is thorough and detail oriented and able to follow procedures

  • Must be able to always maintain confidentiality
