Job Summary:

Champions technical analysis of manufacturing processes in all aspects of production, costs, quality, safety, and environmental compliance requirements for heat treat processes.

What You Will Do:

• Researching new materials and competitive products. Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.

• Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance. Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists.

• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents. Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.

• Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.

• Creating and Updating process documents (controls plans / standard work / PFMEAs)

Education Requirement:

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Metallurgy, Materials Science or Engineering curriculum.

Top Candidates will also have:

• Previous heat treat experience with carburizing, induction and nitriding.

• Advanced understanding of heat-treat process controls.

• Advanced knowledge of FMEA's, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Error Proofing, Root Cause Analysis and Process Analytics.

• 5+ years’ progressive project and/or process improvement experience.

• Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and project planning skills.

• 3+ years' experience using Microsoft Products (word / excel / teams)

Additional Information

The location for this position is East Peoria, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $165,840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
