Job Summary
If you are a proactive leader with a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence, Caterpillar, Inc. is seeking an experienced Team Leader for Americas LAN and WLAN teams. In this role, you will manage the daily activities of the Americas network team, ensuring smooth operations and optimal performance for all Caterpillar, Inc. sites. You will also contribute to defining the global LAN/WLAN strategy and lead activities to implement this strategy effectively across the Americas, European, and Asia Pacific regions.
As the Team Lead of the LAN/WLAN team, you will work in collaboration with other cross-functional teams to drive strategic projects, playing a crucial role in enhancing our network infrastructure and future technologies. Additionally, you will be responsible for engaging with business unit projects and requests, ensuring that our network solutions align with business needs and objectives.
What You Will Do:
Lead team of network engineering to provide production support and complete project work across the Americas region
Provide daily guidance to the LAN and WLAN teams with regards to workload, as needed provide the escalation path to ensure work is completed and high priority issues are resolved quickly
Identify work to be accomplished by the team – delegate and assign work as needed to drive execution across the team
Must have fundamental knowledge of LAN and WLAN technologies to provide guidance to the team and engage appropriate teams during incident calls
Engage with peers across other teams (i.e., WAN, Firewall, security, etc.) to support Enterprise projects and collaborate to resolve complex issues
Engage proactively with key BU leaders to understand IT needs, identify efficiency improvements, and build strong business relationships
Engage with priority incident team as needed for P1 incidents – ensure team is engaged and that other resources are pulled in from other teams needed to resolve the incident
Engage and provide communication as needed regarding project updates, issue resolutions, and other requests that come to the LAN/WLAN team
Collaborate with architects and broader Network Services team to create and update LAN/WLAN strategies – lead Americas team to engage with European and Asia Pacific regions to communicate and drive strategic actions as needed
Assist LAN/WLAN IT Manager to with the following: identifying SMART goals, creating development plans team members, and provide input for performance reviews
Assist in interviewing, selecting, and hiring additional team members as needed
What You Have:
Computer-related or engineering-related four-year degree (or equivalent work experience)
At least 3 years’ experience in working with business unit customers
Strong progressively responsible IT job-related experiences
Fundamental knowledge of LAN and WLAN
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing to senior leaders
Ability to work with a diverse team across multiple locations
Ability to lead in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others in a positive manner
Other Desirable Qualifications:
Previous formal leadership experience
Advanced knowledge of LAN/WLAN technologies
Advanced and basic knowledge of other network technologies and infrastructure

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $204,720.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
