The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).
Job Summary
The Facilities Engineer role is involved in the improvement of the facility and the coordination of the maintenance of various manufacturing equipment. This role will be geared to new system integration of manufacturing equipment and the support services needed to maintain equipment and/or building operations.

This position is located in East Peoria and does not provide relocation
15% or less travel expected with this role
What You Will Do
Develops project scopes, designs and estimates for various projects supporting utilities, facility improvements and manufacturing
Interacts with manufacturing, management, engineering consultants, manufacturing engineers and contractors
Develops schedules for projects and be able to adjust to changing business needs
Manages multiple projects from small to large simultaneously. Projects and assignments will include but not limited to the following: roofing, compressed air, cooling towers, fire protection, HVAC, overhead cranes, manufacturing equipment installation, above and below ground piping
Accountable for cost estimating, project management, and design criteria for their projects as well as the specifications for proper installation and equipment choices. Maintains standards and specifications, recommends changes to resolve design and construction problems, and write periodic reports on the progress of the project as well as tracking the expense versus the budget for the project
Maintains facility layout drawings
Creates planned maintenance program and prepares documentation to support new equipment
Manages outside contractors performing maintenance, repairs or changes to the facility or utility system
Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, hazardous materials and ergonomics in performing assigned duties
What You Have
Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Project Managem ent : Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Construction Engineering and Technology : Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to the construction industry; ability to apply principles, techniques, procedures and equipment for a specific branch of engineering to the design and production of various goods and services.
Engineering - MFG : Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
Plant Facilities Management : Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
What Will Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Manufacturing Stand ards, Procedures and Policies : Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Project management experience or coordinating contract work
Experience working with automation projects
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience with AutoCAD and 2D industry standard drawing practices
SAP, CAD, Microsoft Office and / or Microsoft Project experience

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
