Position Summary

Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Applications Manager, the Teaching and Learning Applications Team within the Educational Technology unit of MSU IT Services is responsible for maintaining and implementing centrally supported enterprise applications and services that facilitate classroom instruction and online education. Specifically, this position focuses on administering the Web Print Applications and Windows-based print servers, providing high-level assistance to the MSU community, and driving system improvements and operational efficiency. The role involves project leadership, collaboration with vendors, and engagement with campus stakeholders to support the growth and sustainability of MSU Print services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and enhance the Web Print Applications, including the maintenance of printers, devices, groups, accounts, and generating reports.
  • Manage the MSU Print server infrastructure, encompassing system planning, installation, support, and ongoing maintenance of virtual servers and individual printers.
  • Provide Tier II / III support for print service requests, troubleshooting, and training for the university community.
  • Lead moderate-sized projects related to MSU Print, driving system improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with vendors and campus stakeholders to expand and sustain MSU Print services.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Understanding of higher education and the ability to develop a service strategy, as well as the aptitude to work directly with stakeholders and customers is wanted.  A four-year degree is desired. Should have experience providing technical services for print and/or print hardware solutions or equivalent. Experience in web application services.
