Position Summary
The University Health and Wellbeing (UHW) Project Manager will play a pivotal role in managing UHWs strategic initiatives and programs. This role is lead project manager for the University Health and Wellbeing Plan and implementing the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges. This position is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance the health and wellbeing of students, faculty and staff, fostering a campus culture that prioritizes mental, physical, and social health. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Management: Support UHW leadership and health and wellbeing committees to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive university health and wellbeing plan Coordinate timelines, budgets, and resources for health and wellbeing projects. Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet goals. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, university departments, student organizations, and community partners with diverse backgrounds to promote health and wellbeing initiatives. Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and focus groups to gather input and foster collaboration. Participate and provide input in regularly scheduled departmental meetings involving collective decision-making and strategic planning. Research and Assessment: Conduct needs assessments and research to inform health and wellbeing programs. Analyze data and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and recommend improvements. Program Development: Design and implement health promotion programs, workshops, and campaigns aligned with the Okanagan Charter principles. Promote mental health resources and support services available to the university community. Communication and Advocacy: Collaborate with UHW communications to raise awareness of health and wellbeing initiatives. Support the Spartan Wellbeing Collective in building and implementing marketing and communication plans for the charter. This includes website management, social media and other promotions, presentation preparation and team communication. Deliver high-quality, timely communications, displaying an understanding of audience needs and motivations and identifying the appropriate channels and formats for communication. Advocate for policies and practices that support a healthy campus environment. Reporting and Accountability: Prepare regular reports on project progress and outcomes for stakeholders and university leadership Produce accurate documentation of system requirements and process development on all assigned projects. Ensure compliance with university policies and procedures related to health and wellbeing. Complete other projects as assigned. Please note: This position is term-limited and initially funded for 2-years from the date of hire. Extension is possible and based on remaining scope of work and available funding.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which would normally be acquired in a four-year college degree; three to five years of related and progressively more expansive work experience in a field related to the position including planning and managing projects; communications content management (written, verbal, digital), experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation, calendaring software, desktop publishing and/or project management software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Education, or related field (Masters preferred). Project management certification including PMP, or other certificates. Minimum of 5 years experience in project management, health promotion, or related areas. Knowledge of the Okanagan C
