Position Summary

The College of Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU) is thrilled to announce the launch of its cutting-edge Bachelor of Science in Technology Engineering program! This groundbreaking, multidisciplinary initiative unites experts from mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering and computer science to deliver a truly innovative educational experience.

We are now accepting applications for a full-time, fixed-term Teaching Specialist in Computer Engineering and Hardware Security. This exciting role offers an academic year (9-month) appointment with potential renewal every three years based on positive annual performance reviews and mutual agreement.

As a critical team member, the chosen candidate will have the unique opportunity to develop and teach dynamic undergraduate courses in computer operating systems, networks and network security, and hardware/software cybersecurity. Minimum Requirements

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

  1. a Master's degree by position start date;
  2. strong communication skills;
  3. demonstrated experience in working directly with the application/ instruction of computer operating systems, networks, and/or hardware/software security; and
  4. ability to engage with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and explain complex topics in an understandable way.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant professional licensing and/or certifications;
  • experience with curriculum development;
  • three or more years of industry experience;
  • three or more years teaching undergraduate engineering or technology.
  • Additional experience with electronics, embedded systems, sensors, and signal processing, are a plus.
