Position Summary

The principal duties of this position will be to conduct research regarding the transport of nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorus (N and P), in drainage water from farmland. The primary focus will be on phosphorus. The research associate will assess the dynamics of phosphorus transport from a subsurface-drained farm as affected by controlled drainage. The candidate will perform DRAINMOD calibration and validation for various sites. Specific responsibilities include but not limited to assisting with some field data collection, assisting with some fieldwork, analyzing flow and nutrient data, DRAINMOD application for flow and N, and writing peer-reviewed journal articles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Research experience in DRAINMOD.

  • Degree Requirements: A Ph.D. in Agricultural/Biosystems, Hydrology, Water Resources or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required

Desired Qualifications

Research experience in drainage water quality, DRAINMOD applications, conservation drainage practices of controlled drainage would be preferred.
