Robert Half Network Engineer in East Lansing, Michigan

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer based in East Lansing, Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our telecom provider's network infrastructure. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of network protocols, Linux systems, and Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement network infrastructure based on project requirements and industry best practices

• Troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability

• Maintain and enhance knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routing and switching technologies

• Utilize Linux systems for network management and maintenance

• Ensure understanding and application of network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS

• Collaborate with team members on large scale projects involving VMware infrastructure and firewall technologies

• Maintain wireless network systems and ensure their seamless integration with the overall network infrastructure

• Continually monitor the network infrastructure for potential issues and address them proactively to prevent disruption of services

• Maintain accurate records and documentation of the network infrastructure and any changes made

• Stay up-to-date with advancements in network technology and recommend changes to improve our systems. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role

• Demonstrated proficiency in Juniper Networks and Cisco Networking

• Solid understanding of Linux Technologies

• Familiarity with Network Protocols

• Experience with Vmware Infrastructure is necessary

• Proficiency in Firewall and Wireless technologies

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Must have a proactive approach to network issues and improvements

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
