Data Modeler/Report Writer

Position Summary

This position is an experienced Data Modeler/Report Writer specializing in Power BI to design and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards for Infrastructure, Planning and Facilities. The role will involve collaborating with teams to ensure data is optimized, accurate, and effectively visualized as well as translate complex data into understandable and actionable information.

Data Modeling - 30%:

  • Design, develop, and optimize efficient data models in Power BI using Power Query and DAX.

  • Ensure data models meet performance requirements and adhere to best practices in data architecture.

  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and reliability in all data models.

Report/Dashboard Development - 30%:

  • Create user-friendly, interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI based on business requirements.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting needs and translate them into functional outputs.

  • Implement advanced visualizations, calculations, and KPIs to enhance report usability.

Data Analysis and Insights - 20%:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

  • Deliver ad-hoc reports and analysis to support various business initiatives and operational strategies.

  • Present data-driven recommendations to improve decision-making processes.

Data Governance and Quality Control - 10%:

  • Implement data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.

  • Regularly audit reports and data models for errors, inconsistencies, and performance issues.

  • Collaborate with data and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues.

Documentation and Training - 10%:

  • Document all Power BI solutions, data models, and reporting processes.

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on how to utilize reports and interpret data effectively.

  • Continuously update documentation based on changing business needs and new Power BI features.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; three to five years of related work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
