Unit Position Summary
MSU AgeAlive is an organization within the College of Osteopathic Medicine- As a small unit, one of the AgeAlive initiatives is a Lifelong Learning platform, called "Town and Gown". Town and Gown offers free faculty presentations geared towards older adults in the community, every other Tuesday from 5:00-6:30 during the academic year. MSU faculty and guest speakers present topics of interest and open it up for questions and discussion following their presentation. The participants are a mix of MSU retirees and community members. Town and Gown offers hybrid presentations with the option to meet in person at the Peoples Church or via Zoom. Most participants attend via Zoom (30-50 people typically). Peoples Church is located across the street from campus at 200 W. Grand River. AgeAlive seeks a part-time student employee to professionally navigate and manage the Zoom presentations. It requires a student to attend each session in person, (Typically 2 hours, 4:30-6:30PM twice per month, with a few hours added on.) It requires less than 10 hours per month. (Additional duties may be added to the responsibilities.)
