Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Billing Clerk in the government industry, located in East Lansing, Michigan. As a Billing Clerk, your primary focus will be on managing utility, tax, and water bills, handling payments, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Administering the processing of utility, tax, and water bills

• Handling customer payments through various methods, including in-person and telephonic transactions

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data entry and record-keeping tasks

• Providing excellent customer service by resolving customer inquiries promptly and professionally

• Managing Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing Collection tasks

• Maintaining accurate customer records and monitoring customer accounts for any required action. Requirements • Proficiency in Billing Collection procedures and practices

• Proficient knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Excellent customer service skills, with a customer-focused approach

• Ability to perform data entry tasks with high level of accuracy and speed

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas

• Prior experience in a Government setting is preferred

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is a plus.
