Michigan State University(MSU) Assistant Professor-Tenure System in East Lansing, Michigan
Position Summary
A full time, 9 month tenure track Assistant Professor with a 60% research, 35% teaching and 5% service assignment. Will develop a robust, collaborative, federally funded research program that focuses on nutritional influences on gastrointestinal health of pigs and other animals. Advising graduate students, publishing in high tier peer reviewed journals, and collaborating to achieve intentional societal impacts is expected. Has academic training and expertise in the nutrition of swine and also companion animals, as well as practical knowledge as related to production and growth. They must be able to effectively instruct and provide a high quality instructional experience for undergraduate and graduate students in the department. Annually, they will teach ANS 413 Non Ruminant Nutrition (4 credits) and another 3 credit course which may focus upon comparative nutrition, metabolism, and health.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Doctorate degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Animal Science, Animal Biology or related degree field.
Minimum Requirements
Doctorate Degree or foreign academic equivalent in Animal Science, Animal Biology, or related degree field of study, and One (1) year of experience as a Post-Doctoral Scientist, Research Associate, or in a related occupation. Experience must include: Publishing peer-reviewed articles in the field pig nutrition and health. Postdoctoral experience in Animal Science or related field. Experience with on-line learning management systems as well as assessment of student learning outcomes. Experience of teaching non-ruminant nutrition courses at the university level. Experience in nutrition and gastrointestinal health academic research. Experience publishing peer-reviewed articles in research journals with nationally competitive and sustainable funding.
