Job Overview:

The primary focus of the HRIS Specialist position is the support and maintenance of the Human Resource Management systems. This individual performs all the necessary functions to ensure the integrity of HRIS data and ensures said data is compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements and corporate HRIS standards and processes. This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position. The HRIS Specialist is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides general administrative support including preparing correspondence, forms and reports
  • Maintains paper-based and electronic files for employee garnishments and 401(k) information; provides accurate information to federal and state agencies regarding employees; ensures deductions are entered into system in a timely manner for payroll
  • Acts as a contact person for answering garnishment and 401(k) questions or providing forms and information professionally and accurately
  • Initiates routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting; Initiates and completes basic to intermediate level ad hoc data requests for department and property management
  • Independently conducts regular audits on deductions for garnishments, 401(k), insurance, and wardrobe as well as general employee information and completed Personnel Action Records
  • Reviews and updates a variety of data maintained electronically and ensure the accuracy of information; Supports the HR team in entering data into the data systems as necessary
  • Initiates routine data analysis of employee data such as compensation, benefits, classification and/or timesheet data
  • Consults with others to resolve questions, challenges in workflow, or missing data
  • Reviews HR processes and provide input for improvement for continuous efficiency
  • Identifies confidential information and follows procedures for safeguarding such information
  • Assists with special Benefits Department projects such as open enrollments
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:(please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment

Associate Degree in Human Resources or related fieldrequired

Two (2) years of Human Resources work experiencerequired

Must have a working knowledge of computers with experience using Microsoft products, including strong Excel experience; a beginner level skills test will be administered with a minimum passing score of 80%required; Access and/or SQL-preferred

Working knowledge of HR processes; Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; Experience creating tables, charts, and graphs, and performing other HRIS computer operations as necessary

Str ong written communication skills including grammar, spelling, and proofreading

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy; Capable of maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines

Excellent organizational skills; Experience with assembling information/data into executive summaries and detailed reports; Able to maintain focus and manage time when working on projects

Able to work independently and as a member of a team

Must possess a high level of maturity and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Demonstrates high comfort level in professionally communicating with all levels of management

Skilled and mature in making valid judgments, the determination of priorities, and working independently; well organized with attention to detail; able to relate effectively with employees

Must possess a valid state drivers license

Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holiday
