Job Information
The Principal Engineer, Product Safety Certification is responsible for commercializing Doosan’s hydrogen-based product line through obtaining and maintaining product certification to safety/performance standards in target markets of North America, Europe, and Asia. Requires documentation/maintenance of certification records, bills of material and test reports for global products. Coordination of test plans with in-house and third-party resources to achieve/maintain certification, and interpretation/support for implementation of certification requirements for Doosan fuel cell products. Support product development processes to ensure achievement of certifiable designs/design changes. Review/propose modifications to existing standards as well as new standards, to assure Doosan’s product processes and capabilities are accurate, reliable, repeatable and certified.
Role & Responsibility
Ability to successfully guide products through varied certification cycles/processes.
Diligent, timely and thorough development/maintenance of records for materials billing, data analysis, data collection, and technical reports.
Interface with the manufacturing organization to ensure compliance with product safety/certification requirements.
Participate as a team member in the certification phases of broad engineering projects.
Working comprehension of mechanical/electrical/chemical engineering, ignition/combustion, materials, piping/tubing, safety, and power electronics.
Knowledge/experience with ANSI/CSA Americas, ISO, SAE, IEC. Pressure Equipment Directive standards is highly desirable.
Ability to work under prescribed deadlines and handle multiple, detail-oriented priority tasks while working proactively with others.
Job Requirements
Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of CSA, CE, ANSI, UL and other certification standards, including Asian standards preferred.
Technical skills and knowledge necessary to understand hydrogen and fuel cell products, manufacturing processes, engineering functions.
Selection of effectual engineering techniques to address/solve problems and to make design decisions.
Sales, marketing and strategic planning knowledge, skills and leadership in a manufacturing/factory environment.
Experience:
Previous work experience with ANSI/CSA Americas and IEC standards
Deep experience in the technical product certification field
Administration and leadership of certification efforts
Education
BS degree with 7-10+ years of experience
MS degree with 4-7+ years of experience
PhD degree with 2-4+ years of experience
