What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced, proactive, and goal-oriented Senior Engineer in our MRL Program Management Group in the Core Manufacturing Engineering organization to provide Program Management of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) deployment and execution of key hardware and program priorities. The MRL Senior Engineer will be primary owner of key MRL deliverables, planning milestones, risk identification, communication, and mitigation via the MRL organization.

The selected candidate will be a leader on the project steering team and will act as the primary liaison between module centers, the program office customer, and operations/quality/ME Leadership. Using updated Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) standard work and collaboration with module centers MEs, this employee will be responsible for tracking project plan, budget and completion.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, high impact environment. The success of MRL is essential to improving the quality signature of PW’s products and improve margin through the systematic elimination of cost of poor quality spend. The activity from this program will be used to inform subsequent product and process improvements to improve the safety, quality, delivery, and cost signature of future PW products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive MRL timely advancement performance of assigned parts to drive down defects.

  • Support operations and module center manufacturing engineers to support Quality Improvement Projects (QIP), source transitions, engineering changes, and technology insertion tasks.

  • Report MRL progression status and milestone risks to senior leadership, internal and external customers.

  • Identification and communication of project risks with Core ME, provide notification of risk reduction and/or quality improvement/cost savings opportunities to the operations MRL team senior leadership.

  • Provide MRL team support to all involved departments cohesively.

  • Oversee implementation and execution of engineering changes.

  • Support timely MRL progression and hardware transitions from development to production for assigned hardware.

  • Proactively work with suppliers to obtain required data/documentation for MRL progression, defect reduction and process capability improvements, including PFMEA, PCPs, Tool and Gage plans.

  • Support, assist process qualification, certification and FAI activities as required.

  • Travel up to 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial, mechanical) or related technical field

  • 5+ years of experience in operations and manufacturing engineering

  • project management experience

  • Strong understanding of process control via PFMEA

  • Up to 10% travel may be required

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel,

  • PowerPoint, NX, and Outlook.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • ACE/CORE/ 6 Sigma knowledge and/or certification.

  • Strong understanding of other continuous improvement skills

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
