Tax Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various tax-related tasks and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming correspondence from taxing authorities and ensure timely responses.

• Conduct thorough research on taxability based on specific situational issues that arise.

• Collaborate with Avalara to address monthly sales and use tax needs and questions.

• Prepare and submit quarterly revenue reports to various states.

• Work closely with the team to manage fuel tax reporting requirements.

• Oversee property tax reporting across multiple locations.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in tax compliance or a similar role (2+ years).

• Strong analytical and research skills.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with tax software, particularly Avalara, is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience with indirect tax, sales & use tax, and tax accounting.

• Proficiency in Excel.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The company is fast-growing, acquiring other companies, and expecting more growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
