Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position proactively addresses complex issues and initiatives with a focus on long term impact to the plant. Is responsible for the oversight of all Hilleman Production Areas Maintenance scope which includes but not limited to VMF Maintenance, Weigh and Dispense, Hilleman Clean Utilities, Site Facilities. Emergency Management program and Facilities Maintenance. Teams with GES, site IPT’s and COE’s on all the programs described above. Provides direction to contractors and temporary project personnel. Reports to the site’s Executive Director of Engineering, Maintenance and Site Services.

GENERAL PROFILE:

VMF Maintenance:

  • Lead the engineering, maintenance and calibration activities related to the two Sterile Filling lines in VMF and related Clean Utilities.

  • Strong technical and customer service-oriented leader to support the VMF IPT. Will lead the tactical and strategic equipment reliability improvements, human resources activities while ensuring a safe work environment with optimized product quality and manufacturing processes and regulatory compliance.

  • Lead the Facilities Maintenance and IFM program for the Hilleman site as well as integrate the new additions to the Site, e.g. DS4 and FLASH.

Clean Utilities:

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance of all clean utilities at the Hilleman site.

  • Make sure that the Clean Utilities Preventative Maintenance program is in good state of compliance.

  • This include the Soft Part replacement program, derouge and passivation and all the related maintenance and calibration of these systems.

Shutdown Management:

  • Responsible for planning all activities related to the Hilleman areas Shutdowns.

Other

  • Participates in Regulatory Inspections, Corporate Audits and Local Audits as needed

  • Acts occasionally as the EMSS Executive Director

  • Collaborating and building relationships with professionals in Company and Partner organizations and site operations.

  • Developing and Maintaining core documents such as internal Practices, Procedures, Guides and Standards.

  • Develop objectives, metrics, and best practices that deliver favorable performance

BUSINESS EXPERTISE:

  • Project management and Problem Solving experience

  • An understanding of Maintenance, Emergency Management, Clean Utilities, Facilities operations systems and compliance

  • Applies management skills to align staff activities with department objectives.

  • Applies leadership skills to align staff, multiple departments on key projects.

FUNCTIONAL EXPERTISE:

  • Establishes structure, policies and practices that facilitate effective collaboration across organizations at the Site and/or Multiple Sites.

  • Financial Management - Responsible for the cost center within the Production Maintenance Operations, including creating and managing all profit plans and forecasts throughout the year

  • Project Management - Responsible for all major equipment related projects, including funding, change control and equipment qualification - Responsible for obtaining bids, reviewing contracts, supervising, and providing follows-up on contract work including the auditing of time and material reports Shutdown Management -

  • Safety Audit activities – Sponsor and Enforce Safety Program implementation and keep the program up to date with the corporate standards and state and federal regulations.

  • Equipment Reliability: Manages equipment location and status in SAP and ProCal as well as related equipment drawings. Assists in deviation investigations for maintenance instruments, equipment, and systems. - Collaborates with the Technical CoE reliability engineers to conduct periodic RBAM assessments and own area specific reliability actions - Monitors calibration, maintenance, and equipment/utilities operations performance by analyzing completed work orders with an emphasis on reducing reactive work and increasing reliability. - Maintains the integrity of equipment identification and specification data within the computerized calibration and maintenance management system. - Identifies revisions, deletions, or additions to the calibration and maintenance programs to ensure that calibration and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with established safety, GMP, and calibration/maintenance procedures.

  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, above average technical aptitude with the ability to learn new skills and tasks, and problem solving skills; strong team skills and interpersonal skills including motivating/empowering others, and resolving conflict.

  • Must be able to work with cross functional teams comprised of both our Company personnel in order to drive to successful execution and timing

  • Must be familiar with the end to end site supply chain in order to engage the correct business partners to ensure problems are identified and solved in a proactive manner.

  • Adapts and executes site plans and priorities based on divisional metrics to address business and operational challenges

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:

  • Leads Production Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Clean Utilities operations teams including associate directors, coaches, technicians and engineers

  • Serves a leadership team member for the Engineering Maintenance and Site Services

  • Coaches/mentors direct reports responsible for each area within the Production Maintenance Operations

  • Forecasts resource needs; works within the allocated budget

Education:

  • BS/BA degree and 10 years of combined experience in Maintenance, Operations and Clean Utilities.

  • Ability to work with a broad skilled user base and to provide excellent customer service in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required as well as extraordinary organizational and planning skills.

Desired

  • BS/BA degree and 20 years of combined experience in Maintenance, Operations and Clean Utilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead (financially and technically) operations and personnel affecting multiple areas of the plant site.

  • Experience in shutdown process

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to Executive Director of Engineering, Maintenance and Site Services

  • Interacts with local and Global COEs

  • Frequent interaction with other departments and other sites

  • Interacts with representatives from regulatory agencies
