Actalent NERC Compliance Engineer in Durham, North Carolina

Job Title: NERC Compliance EngineerJob Description

The Cybersecurity Compliance Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the systems and technologies required to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards at our client's Remote Operation Center. This position will work closely with the Cybersecurity Compliance Analysts, the Head of Cybersecurity, and other stakeholders to translate policies into technical solutions that meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain systems and technologies to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards.

  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity Compliance Analysts, the Head of Cybersecurity, and other stakeholders to translate policies into technical solutions.

  • Utilize technologies such as Linux and Windows server environments, virtualization technologies (including Docker and VMWare), and industrial control systems (ICS) and SCADA networks.

  • Implement and manage network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, primarily based on Fortinet Fortigate and other product lines.

  • Deploy and manage SIEM, monitoring, and logging tools.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT/OT systems administration, network engineering, or related role.

  • Strong knowledge of NERC CIP standards and their technical implementation.

  • Knowledge of security best practices and frameworks like ISO and NIST.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISA).

  • Experience with network/system administration, Fortinet, cybersecurity, Jira, IT/OT, SIEM, and SCADA.

Work Environment

The work environment includes working with technologies such as Linux and Windows server environments, virtualization technologies (including Docker and VMWare), industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA networks, and network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems). The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
