Nutanix Academy Associate Systems Engineer in Durham, North Carolina

The Opportunity

Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for technology and a drive to excel in a dynamic environment? If so, joining our team as an Academy Associate Systems Engineer at Nutanix will provide you with comprehensive training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to launch your career in the cutting-edge field of enterprise cloud infrastructure. Anticipate the academy training portion to be approximately up to 24 months. If the applicant qualifies and there is an opening, the AASE can transition into a Field Associate Systems Engineer role where they will spend an estimated 12 to 36 months. An SE would be the next career opportunity for the right candidate.

About the Team

This is an Academy program where 90% of the time is focused on customer success experience. The remaining 10% entails shadowing and training on SE activities, including learning entry-level concepts, methodologies, and tools.

We have a structure called the "pod," which consists of the AE (Associate Engineer), SE (System Engineer), and the inside team, including CSR (Customer Service Representatives). These engineers work closely to align with the strategic goal of creating a successful sub-region. Each member brings specific skills to the table, contributing to the shared objective of meeting sales quotas and delivering measurable outcomes.

Your Role

  • Deliver workshops and support customers in understanding and maximizing the value of purchased products.

  • Assist with licensing and converting customers to version 2.0.

  • Identify expansion opportunities and align customer objectives with new Nutanix offerings.

  • Shadow and train on SE activities to transition to field associate systems engineer role.

  • Focus 90% on customer experience and 10% on shadowing and mentorship.

  • Train and develop in building and closing opportunities, deliver sizings, and manage bills of materials for customers.

  • Conduct customer progress checks and identify potential workloads for product expansion.

  • Shadow and learn how to collaborate with the customer account team and conduct solution demonstrations for customers.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 74,720 and USD $ 112,078 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
