This person will oversee game logistics and coordinate with additional programming associated with the grant. The Indigenous Lacrosse Coordinator will be employed through the University of Minnesota's Center of American Indian and Minority Health (CAIMH). This is a remote position and work activities will take place at the University of Minnesota campuses and occur near and around Duluth, MN. All UMN employees are expected to follow applicable public health and safety procedures. This is a part-time 20 hour per week position. Reporting Relationship: The Indigenous Lacrosse Coordinator is appointed by and serves at the discretion of the Director of the CAIMH. This person will report to the Research Manager on the Duluth Campus. Duties/Responsibilities 100%: Program Management Work directly with ISD 709, American Indian Education Department, and Afterschool program organizers to organize lacrosse games and healthy foods nutrition curriculum Correspond with larger C2Dream grant group Assist in the coordination of logistics of the healthy foods Nutrition Curriculum Manage attendee database Lead the management of Lacrosse game and facility scheduling Facilitate and attend all organized games Manage and store equipment Manage coach stipends Assist with the management of C2Drean grant requirements Assist in the organization of larger CAIMH and community events Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency plans as needed Develop relationships and a contact database of potential coaches Advertise Lacrosse games Salary Range: $30,000 - $46,000 Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS plus at least four years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years Skilled with spreadsheets and Google Gmail/Drive Experience with administrative tasks Communication skills Preferred Qualifications Connection to local Tribal community members Experience working with Indigenous youth Knowledge of local Indigenous culture About the Department The Center of American Indian and Minority Health (CAIMH) is part of the University of Minnesota Medical School, located on the Duluth and Twin Cities campuses.
