The successful candidate is expected to teach time-based and digital media in foundational and advanced-level courses. Faculty will teach three courses per semester and actively engage in research within their area of expertise. In addition to teaching and research expectations, tenure-track faculty have the opportunity to serve on the committees at both departmental and university levels and advise undergraduate students. See Benefits section below for more information. Qualifications Required Qualifications An MFA, PhD, or equivalent in Digital Arts or a related field by the date of employment. Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience in a Mac-based lab environment or Mac laptop classroom (may include graduate TA experience) Expertise in time-based media, design, and production Potential for establishing research agenda Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion , and/or social justice Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a digital arts studio Experience supervising work-study students Familiarity with web-based instruction technology and methods Knowledge of broader contemporary art and design issues. About the Department The Department of Art & Design offers BFA degrees in two Graphic Design emphases, Art Education, and four Studio Art emphases, as well as BA degrees in Art and Art History. The Department of Art & Design is part of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
