Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

NP/PA – Nephrology (Casual)

Duluth, MN

An APP utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills. They work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Advanced Practice Clinicians provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

This position will assist our patients by utilizing a strong team-based approach to care, with a high integration of APP and MDs for the clinic, and inpatient and dialysis units for all 3 phases of nephrology care.

• Desired skill set: Experience in complex chronic disease management

• Typical Shift: up to 0.4 FTE per pay period

• 10% clinic work

• 90% dialysis rounding

• Ideal candidate does not need to live in the Duluth area; candidate could live in areas near Virginia, MN or Grand Rapids, MN as there is travel involved with this position

• Schedule: Variable start and end times due to travel

• Estimated Patients Per Day: 12 (office), 12-15 (dialysis)

• Other responsibilities: Assist Physicians with non-encounter work

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

EDUCATION:

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota & Wisconsin Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota & Wisconsin Current certification in CPR. National certification, in applicable area. Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
