Summary:
Under supervision, the Master Electrician, in addition to the duties and responsibilities of a journey person electrician, shall be responsible to perform the duties of the mater electrician of record for electrical systems pursuant to Minnesota statutes and electrical codes. Performs general electrical work in the District, such as installs, services and maintains electrical equipment and wiring systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of Class A Minnesota Master's license issued by the State of Minnesota's Board of Electricity
Ability to work from drawings and specifications
Ability to make operating repairs to electrical machinery and equipment
Ability to direct and train helpers
Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees.
Knowledge Requirements:
Various types of electrical instruments, equipment and appliances and the standard practices, materials and processes of the electrical trade. Examples of equipment include amp probes, multimeters and circuit tracers.
Installation, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment, apparatus and instruments.
Electronic circuits
Laws, rules and standards related to electrical construction
Skill Requirements:
Ability to work from drawings, specifications and blueprints
Ability to make operating repairs to machinery
Ability to direct and train electrical helpers
Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees
Skills to differentiate between mechanical and electrical problems
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Excellent interpersonal relations when working with and in proximity of District staff and students
