This position is an integral member of the SCSE Finance Team, performing post-award financial management for an assigned portfolio of faculty. This individual will work closely with the other members of the SCSE finance team as well as with faculty and their personnel to manage and facilitate grant activities. They will offer guidance and expertise on budgeting, compliance, electronic data and file management and reporting. Salary Range: $53,393.60 - $60,0000 Flexible work arrangements are available for this position and may include flexibility in schedule and/or work location. Essential Functions Financial Management - Sponsored Projects 90% Post-award management of extramural and internal awards Coordinate with pre-award staff to establish proposal budgets and ensure transition from pre- to post-award Coordinate with SPA/SFR for reporting, communications, amendments, and close-out Prepare monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports for proactive award management Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings with PIs to advise on financial status of projects; identify budget issues, communicate with project staff, and facilitate changes and corrections Coordinate effort certification; maintain payroll distributions Audit financial activity for compliance Maintain sponsored chart of accounts; process cost transfers Financial Management Non-sponsored 5% Financial management of discretionary funds for assigned portfolio of faculty Customer Service and Department-wide Development 5%: Contribute as a team member in the delivery of services and administration of the SCSE FSO by participating in planning, evaluating, and executing department activities and initiatives. Attend training sessions to maintain competence and ability to perform functions of the position. Attend Grant Management User Network (GMUN) meetings and Sponsored Project Symposium. Participate in college-wide and department staff/team meetings, professional development, training, and events. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree plus two years of professional work experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a higher education research environment. Demonstrated experience working with grants. Knowledge of and ability to understand and apply the U of MN financial policies and procedures. Experience with University of MN Enterprise Financial System (EFS), HRMS, UMN financial and accounting structure, and reporting systems.
