Manufacturing Engineer

Department: Mod Shop

Location: Duluth, GA

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team here in Duluth. This position involves providing technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing team. You will ensure the production process is efficient, cost-effective, and meets quality standards. This position collaborates with Engineering (design), quality, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, optimize production processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Engineering teams to provide feedback on product design for manufacturing.

  • Create and maintain technical detailed documentation as technical specifications/drawings, Bill of Materials, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Analyze and improve panel design to enhance efficiency in production and cost reduction.

  • Develop templates/poka-yokes for production to increase productivity and ensure quality.

  • Provide technical assistance and support to the manufacturing team for the assembly, testing and packing of new and/or current LV electrical panels projects, including prototypes.

  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.

Education:

  • Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge / training:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical panel design, assembly, and testing processes.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience with SAP is a differential

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment.
