The Job Details are as follows:

Work with a team of metadata professionals to perform hands-on data analysis, ingest and troubleshooting specific to the library data. Communicate with external data providers & members to resolve data issues.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

- - Performs activities related to batch processing and data ingest, hands-on data research on bibliographic and system log data.

``` - - Works with member libraries to ingest data or solve member quality issues. Applicants with library system experiences encouraged to apply.

``` - - Generates specifications for development teams; investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves data quality issues.

``` - - Analyzes existing dashboards using performance tuning and works with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements.

``` - - Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- - Bachelor's degree in atechnical fieldwith three years of data management experience; ORMaster of Library/Information Science(MLIS) OR five years experience with data analysis or creation of library data.

``` - - Passion for data quality and streamlined processes.

``` - - Strong analytical and communication skills, with high attention to data quality

``` - - Ability to think logically, work accurately and maintain focus in a deadline-oriented production environment

 

Preffered Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- - Experience with query languages or computer programing languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python, XSLT, Perl, shell, etc.).

``` - - Some cataloging experience (RDA, AACR2, LC, DDC) and understanding oflibrary standards (e.g., MARC, BIBFRAME, etc.).

``` - - Some experience with data visualization tools and data stores (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Snowflake etc.)

 

Working Conditions:Normal office environment.
