Sysco Merchandising Pricing Specialist - SYGMA - Dublin, OH in DUBLIN, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY

The Inventory Pricing Specialist maintains and monitors internal and external pricing contracts for given distribution centers in order to ensure accuracy and maximize profitability. May require weekend, or after hours, telephone contact with suppliers, or SYGMA personnel to troubleshoot emergency situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect and maintain Customer contracts and pricing for Suppliers and Distribution Centers

  • Assist any Account Administrator in maintaining correct pricing records to ensure correct pricing to the Customers and assist with any Customer Audits

  • Enter new pricing into the system with the correct effective date that will fall within the contractual guidelines of our Customer(s), while maximizing potential gains or minimizing potential losses in Inventory Valuations

  • Evaluate and reconcile Purchase Order Confirmations that do not match pricing on open Purchase Orders by working directly with Suppliers and Account Administration

  • Correct all Invoices and/or Purchase Order discrepancies as sent from Accounts Payable in a timely manner in order to ensure minimum turn time and maximize Cash Discount opportunities

  • Determine responsibility and resolve all freight and/or courier bills by applying the necessary and corresponding deductions to Suppliers and/or determining the proper SYGMA Account from which to process the bills

  • Reconcile freight invoices that do not match the freight amount stated on Purchase Orders

  • Occasional weekend, or after hours, telephone contact with suppliers, or SYGMA personnel to troubleshoot emergency situations

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

  • Work closely with Manager and Supervisors to achieve harmony, operational efficiency, and profitability

  • Make suggestions to the Manager on ways to be more accurate in our Pricing methods in order to improve our Service to our Customers

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in purchasing or inventory valuation is required

  • 2 years of purchasing or supervisory experience is desired

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Detail orientation with the ability to see the big picture

  • Ability to read and understand contracts

  • Strong written communication skills, especially email

Physical Demands

Work is sedentary in nature

Mental/Visual Demands

Must be able to read at distances close to the eyes, with or without correction.

Equipment Operated

Personal Computer, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point., A/S 400 purchasing system.
