Travel : 90% local, 10% travel as needed to Dayton, Cincinnati, and as far as TX for certain clients

General Description:

  • Responsible for correct planning & layout for the line and grade portion of the project using advanced knowledge and interpretive skills.

  • Completes all required reporting, planning, documents & duties with the use of advanced instruments such as total station & data collectors.

Has the necessary skills and knowledge to use advanced instruments/total stations. Is a technical line/grade & layout resource for others. Understands Coordinate Geometry, Geometric Theory & Geometric Functions Application to establish surveying/data/layout points.

Planning:

  • Understands Contract Documents.

  • Develops the plan for the surveying and layout necessary for projects.

  • Full Description: Develops the Surveying/Layout plan by understanding the contract documents and generating requests for information, understanding the sequence/schedule of the work phases and activities.

Analysis:

  • Gathers and interprets data/information related to the execution of line/grade & layout for projects.

  • Understands and interprets contract documents and drawings.

  • Full Description: Systematically gathers and interprets data/information related to the execution of line/grade & layout for projects. Interprets or makes deductions from varying facts and circumstances related to the contract documents and drawings to plan the line/grade & layout for projects.

Priority Duties/Key Elements and Desired Outcomes:

Key Responsibilities:

  3. Setting up, establishing & maintaining permanent control throughout the entire duration of the project.

  4. Validating building dimensions using architectural/structural drawings by looking for potential errors/discrepancies.

  5. Key Elements to Address and/or Utilize:

  6. Engage the Project Lead on the line & grade portion of the project to ensure proper sequencing/scheduling and detail.

  7. Validate shop drawings vs. structural drawings.

  8. Research and familiarize with all drawings and applicable contract documents to ensure all information is available and understood.

  9. Desired Outcomes:

  10. Validated accurate dimensions by reviewing the architectural and structural drawings prior to execution.

  11. The project lead is aware and engaged in the timing of the line and grade portion of the project.

  12. Understand and address any discrepancies found in the shop drawings vs. structural drawings prior to execution.

  13. Understand and verify all dimensions, elevations, details (information) required are available and used correctly. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all layout locations, questions, and issues.

  14. Performs layout with advanced instruments/total station

  15. Priority Duties:

  16. Understand advanced instruments & use technical expertise to perform layout.

  17. Deliver layout information to the project team to ensure execution.

  18. Key Elements to Address and/or Utilize:

  19. Total station, transit, level, laser, stringline, coordinate geometry, data collector, drawings, perform carpentry tasks to ensure the quality of layout.

  20. Edgelines, rebar, embedded items, openings.

  21. Desired Outcomes:

  22. Layout was performed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.

  23. Deliver accurate layout information to the project team in a timely manner.

Pre-Employment Check : Drug-test (10 panel), 5-year background check.

Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
