Currently hiring a Chemistry Lab Technician in a Food Science Laboratory. An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and long term interest in the Food Science Laboratory.

Job Description

This position performs and documents routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using written operating procedures, standard laboratory methods, and basic laboratory techniques. You will conduct specific procedures and tests both within and outside of the laboratory, requiring applied knowledge and practical skills gained from on-the-job experience. Responsibilities include modifying techniques to fit special needs, calculating and evaluating data for accuracy, assisting with specialized tests, and maintaining records. You will coordinate and plan work with other technicians and scientists, support the laboratory department by performing various laboratory processes, and ensure adherence to safety regulations. Additional duties include preparing samples, performing analyses, operating laboratory equipment, maintaining lab cleanliness, and documenting quality assurance data.

Hard Skills

• Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry or a similar field of study (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, ect)

• Basic Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products

• Undergraduate Chemistry lab experience

Work Environment

Team environment. TU-SA 8am-4:30pm Schedule.
