The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is a creative, strategic, and organized marketing and communications professional with a passion for nature. They are driven to excel and to support colleagues in achieving their potential while contributing to a dynamic, flexible and fun workplace culture.

As a member of the Ohio staff leadership team, they advise the strategic direction of the Ohio Chapter and share responsibility for our performance and culture. They create, implement and adaptively manage a comprehensive plan to deploy annual and longer-term programs and actions (including online and print communications, media relations, strategic partnerships, industry publications, social media, sponsorships, and engagement with key audiences) to support our global goals strategies to protect land and water for nature and people.

The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is based in Ohio and serves as an informed and proactive resource for Ohio colleagues, volunteer leaders and the media. They supervise or co-manage team members and engage with the Conservancy's global marketing network of professional staff members. The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications collaborates closely with marketing peers of the Midwest Division ((Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin) and other conservation strategy colleagues with a particular focus on advancing impactful policy initiatives across the Midwest Division.

In addition to building awareness and support among key audiences, the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications helps achieve TNC goals through strategic communications (persuading targeted audiences to adopt specific conservation practices) and advising advocacy work and policy outcomes. They manage their program budget and oversee the operational delivery of The Nature Conservancy's established branding principles, whether applied internally or with external partners. Should the need arise, they play a leadership role in risk analysis and crisis communications.
