Citigroup TTS Payments - Line Control Officer in Dublin, Ireland

Team/Role Overview:

The TTS Payments Line Control Officer integrates subject matter and industry expertise to mitigate operational risk in the TTS Payment space. The position’s objective will be to play a key role in maintaining controls framework, providing ongoing controls oversight to the operation team. The role is responsible for helping set and monitor key risk indicators and managing them accordingly.

The Line Control Officer will also ensure operational adherence to all applicable policies & standards, impactful for the TTS Payments Product. The Line Control Officer must be able to effectively communicate and coordinator amongst cross functional partners to achieve the risk and control objectives. The ideal candidate will have either a control background from line operations or would have had experience from a 2nd/3rd line role. Knowledge in Payments is a requisite (Wires, ACH, Instant Payments, Checks, etc.).

What you will do:

  • Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

  • Provides oversight over the TTS Payment Ops MCA to ensure that controls are documented, operating effectively and that inherent risk of underlying processes is mitigated within the firm's appetite..

  • Help facilitate operational responses to various exams including internal audit, compliance assurance and external regulatory exams.

  • Assesses risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

  • Establishes and maintains a robust control environment and culture within the Citi businesses worldwide.

  • Assists management in achieving and maintaining strategic objectives, promotes efficiency, reduces the risk of loss and helps ensure compliance with corporate polices, procedures, laws and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops and maintains tracking metrics for management reporting and escalation

  • Develops a broad and detailed understanding of the organization’s landscape, culture and technology.

What we'll need from you:

  • 6-10 years experience in Operational Risk is a must. Other risk and control disciplines would be a plus – credit, and market.

  • Experience in Internal Audit or Financial Control would be desirable.

  • Expertise in the following is beneficial: Fraud Awareness and Risk Management Legal and Regulatory Compliance, specifically

  • Management of a global operations and a complex environment that includes global teams.

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written

  • Background in payment products and controls
